Monosodium Glutamate (MSG-Flavor Enhancer) may have a slightly sweet or salty taste but it adds no flavor to foods.
It is white in color and brings out and restores flavor to foods without adding flavor of its own.
MSG is a substance found in all living things. It is a chemical rather than a spice.
Despite the bad press it has received, MSG has been found not to be a health hazard when used in small quantities (scientific report - June 1988 - Joint Expert Committee on Food Additives of the United Nations).
However, there are a limited number of people (about 2 Percentage of the world’s population) who have an adverse reaction to MSG.
