Self Rising Flour

Self-rising flour, typically consisting of a regular all-purpose flour but with added salt and baking powder, is best used in recipes that specifically call for this particular type of flour. We carry self-rising flours from General Mills, White Lily and Martha White, both owned by Smucker's, Pillsbury and Harvest (ConAgra). White Lily, promoted as "The Light Baking Flour," comes in a choice of bleached or unbleached and is delivered in cases of eight 5-pound bags.
Larger bulk bags are available from Harvest, which has 50-pounders. Pillsbury and Gold Medal both offer 25-pound bags of hotel and restaurant self-rising flour, with the Gold Medal brand coming two bags per case. Most of these self-rising flours have a shelf life of about a year.
